The Director of Sales will be responsible for the development and implementation of the total sales effort of the hotel, including securing new accounts, maintaining existing accounts, and executing sales and marketing strategies to maximize the profitability of the hotel while maintaining customer satisfaction. Other responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
The successful applicant will provide exceptional customer service through relationship development, strategizing account development and creating plans that meet and exceed expectations by the client
Maintaining knowledge of the competition by engaging visiting facilities and reporting on the business climate as it relates to competitive advantage.
Actively participate in revenue management meetings, team development and overall hotel strategy for account growth and maintenance
Attending networking events, developing and maintaining good relationships with officials and representatives of local community groups, companies, and trade organizations, and attending local and out-of-town meetings and conventions in order to generate sales for the hotel
Conduct site inspections, actively entertain and personally interact with customers, as appropriate for Business Travel development
Understanding and ability to research, price, strategically plan and negotiate on the Hotel’s behalf.
Maintaining customer database via Hotel Sales Pro
Developing contracts and following up with customers
Developing and managing the departmental budget and monitoring sales activity and performance to ensure sales meet or exceed established profit plan and to accurately report variances/projections to management
Responsible for maintaining proper documentation, sales tools and resources including account files, contracts and other sales records within data base

Candidates for Director of Sales must have a minimum of 1-2 years hotel sales experience
Previous full service/major brand experience preferred
Marriott experience preferred
Previous sales experience within the hospitality industry strongly preferred
Knowledge of Hotel Sales Pro preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Office, Internet
Well organized and detail oriented
Ability to work independently
Display initiative, perseverance and analytical skills

Ability to engage with customers and industry leaders and represent the hotel in a professional manner at all times
