Hotel Equities, one of the top hotel development and management companies in the industry, is currently searching for a remarkable Chief Engineer for the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Holiday/Tarpon Springs, FL. To maintain the hotel’s customer and heart of house areas in accordance with company standards by performing preventative maintenance and repairs as necessary. Other responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
Will handle routine maintenance in public spaces, meeting rooms, outlets, back of the house spaces, pool, and grounds.
Maintains rooms in optimal operating condition by performing repairs as needed
Understands the room preventative maintenance program
Preforms facilities janitorial duties when needed
Uses both power and hand tools regularly in a safe, efficient manner
Performs preventative maintenance throughout other areas of the hotel as well as, including both the front of the house, interior and exterior and rooms
Maintains exterior of building and grounds as necessary
To perform routine pool operations (CPO certification required)
Maintains and assists in the cleanliness of individual work area
Demonstrates familiarity with the hotel’s safety systems and takes corrective action on any maintenance or operating problems which affect the security or operating condition of the hotel
Handles master keys in accordance with Company’s standards for the overall safety and security of the hotel.
Take every opportunity to amaze the guests
Work with outside contractors to assist them in performing maintenance or construction jobs.
Adheres to applicable Company SOPs

Properly handle and account for keys
Be knowledgeable of policies regarding emergency procedures and security concerns
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process
Must be self-directed. There is minimal direct supervision.
Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Must have a good knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems, maintenance of records of power, water and fuel consumption; knowledge of HVAC preferred
Must be able to stand 5 hours per day. Sitting and bending, squatting and other motion are required the rest of the working day. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task
Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment.
